Massachusetts Homeless Shelter Receives $17,500 Donation
Serving over 4,000 homeless individuals and families each year, Our Father’s House received a $17,500 donation from Elan on behalf of our credit card partner, Workers Credit Union, to support their mission of helping those experiencing homelessness.
Our Father’s House Executive Director Judith Nest-Pasierb shared, "With this donation, we will be able to continue addressing homelessness in North Central Massachusetts by funding our numerous services, including emergency shelter and support; transitional and permanent housing when possible and practical; individual support and guidance to encourage and assist our clients in becoming self-sufficient; and access to basic needs through our community food pantry."
Our Father’s House is one of four shelters and serves 28 men and women daily. The donation will supplement operations that include housing, food, hygiene, clothing, and basic personal necessities. The nonprofit is designed to provide immediate shelter, with emotional support and resources to help individuals one day support themselves.
“We’re so proud to be able to support Our Father’s House and the huge impact they’re making on our most vulnerable community members,” said Maria McCaffrey, Senior Community Relations & Communication Specialist at Workers Credit Union.
In 2022, the Elan Charitable Giving program has distributed $720,000 to nonprofits throughout the United States on behalf of 55 credit union partners.
